LENS stands for Learning Effective New Strategies. LENS was developed based on research conducted on cognitive bias modification (CBM-I) at King's College London by researchers, clinical psychologists and people with lived experience of anxiety. It is a training for your thinking habits and is made up of 12 sessions. Sessions involve listening to very brief stories (scenarios) about everyday situations and learning to think about them positively, and answering questions.

Completing the Sessions

· Session 1: Lasts 30-40 minutes, and includes an introduction to the training.

· Sessions 2-12: Last around 20 minutes each.

We recommend you complete all 12 LENS sessions in 4 weeks and that you do 3 sessions per week. This is because strengthening new thinking habits requires consistent practice, just like building your muscles requires regular visits to the gym.

Research has found that 3 sessions per week is enough to build a new helpful thinking habit and reduce worry, anxiety, and low mood. It also gives you enough time between sessions to practice this new thinking habit, making it more automatic and easier to use in daily life.

We will send you reminders to help keep you on track, which will be in the form of push notifications and email.
